Description
In this era of sex robots, teledildonics, artificial intelligence, and virtual reality, it can be a challenging—even bewildering—task for therapists to keep up with the impact of new technology on clients’ sexual behavior. At the same time, an increase in nonmonogamous arrangements can further challenge therapists’ beliefs about sex and relationships. In this intensive and fun recorded session, we'll use video, small-group discussion, and virtual reality to explore:
- How to create a safe, nonjudgmental environment for clients by working on biases and countertransference around sex-related stereotypes
- Alternative sexual practices that may come up in therapy
- How clients are affected by new sex tech and its potential use with sex ed, intimacy and disability
- Communication strategies for discussing new pathways for pleasure and navigating potential triggers to unconventional sexual behavior
