Sue Genest, MSc, CCC, is a certified EMDR therapist, EMDRIA approved consultant, and EMDRIA Approved Training provider with over 25 years’ experience specializing in trauma treatment. As an expert in EMDR, she has dedicated her career to helping clients heal from PTSD, complex trauma, anxiety, and dissociation, while also mentoring clinicians to apply EMDR effectively and with confidence.

Her experience spans a wide range of populations, including individuals with PTSD, neurodiverse clients, Indigenous communities, 2SLGBTQPIA+ individuals, correctional inmates, military personnel, cancer patients, and corporate professionals. She integrates EMDR with somatic psychotherapy, Indigenous teachings, shamanic healing, and mind-body interventions to provide a holistic approach to trauma recovery.

Recognizing the challenges of working with complex trauma cases, Sue developed EMDR Mind Mapping – a structured system designed to help therapists organize treatment, track targets, and navigate sessions with greater clarity. Her approach ensures that EMDR clinicians stay fully present, reduce overwhelm, and enhance client outcomes, making EMDR more effective and accessible for both therapists and their clients.
